record it raw. make the harmonies as tight as they are naturally, and the instrumentation as fluid as possible. record it without the bells and whistles. do as jose gonzalez does and just, “press record”. that way, your live shows will be well-recieved, for they sound like the record, and can do nothing but move audiences with your musical variation that comes with live performance. people like to hear you sound like your recordings, and like to moved by your subtle changes in phrasing, time, etc. AS LONG AS the basis of your sound is consistent with what they are used to.
