Refer to your course outlines and make a comprehensive week-by-week plan of all due dates, readings, tests, quizzes, presentations, etc. Keep it somewhere where you’ll see it a lot, and refer to it frequently.

If you have an empty day in your weekly schedule, or even an empty afternoon, designate it as homework time.

See your professors and TAs during their office hours, or by appointment if they allow that, to get feedback on any assignments you might be working on.

Ask a clever friend to look over your essays and provide feedback.

Read your essays out loud to yourself. It’s easier to spot mistakes and weird phrases this way.

Do your studying in a place that’s not your house, like a library or a coffee shop.

You might find it helpful to keep all your notes organized in one place with an app like Evernote. (I am using Evernote this semester and it is revolutionizing my LIFE!!)

Keep an ongoing to-do list and check off completed tasks religiously. If this doesn’t feel satisfying or exciting to you, it’s possible you need more colorful pens.

When studying or working on an assignment, take a 5- or 10-minute break every hour - no excuses. Use that time to stretch, dance, have a snack, talk to a friend, etc.
