i think you'd really like STB, it's about "runaways" and drug culture in the 1960s. i think you'd enjoy it because of your involvement with the lgbt community. i think you would see her descriptions of the outsiders/misfits in the 60s applicable to the lgbt teens of today.

Yeah, that’s a lot of what The White Album is about as well: the cultural movements of the ’60s (women’s movement, Black Panthers, sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll, etc). Fascinating stuff.

I love that my English prof is so fascinated by the 1960s. This past week’s lecture consisted of a screening of Gimme Shelter. Yesss.
