If you’re dating someone, I suggest you take Dan Savage’s perennial advice of “fuck first and then go out for dinner.” It works better for a multitude of reasons: you have sex before you’re all bloated from eating too much, you can then go all out at the restaurant without worrying about the consequences, and it’s often easier to get a reservation at a later time on Valentine’s Day because everyone else is at home fucking.
If you’re single, spend the day being nice to yourself. Take a bath, masturbate, flirt with randos, partake in your creative art of choice, visit a museum, see a movie, dance around your kitchen, call someone who loves you, cuddle with your cat, do a hot oil treatment, etc.
And regardless of whether you’re singled or coupled, I highly recommend you wear a ridiculous red and pink outfit and send me a photo of yourself in it.
