I say listen to the fashion advice you recently gave someone about footwear! Although I will say that I've heard multiple reports of Fryes not holding up as well as boots like Docs. I think Gala Darling even tweeted about that once. Also, I think the bad reviews were referencing their ankle boots. Anyways, I say go for the Fryes.

Right after I wrote that post, I went onto eBay and set up some snipes on a few different pairs in my size. It’ll be cheaper than buying them new, and they’ll still be legit. Sensible girl!
