commandments for the week

1. If you encounter someone you admire or enjoy in any way, reach out to them & tell them so.

2. Think up a positive mantra that you will use to replace any negative thoughts when they come up. (“I am so lucky.” “My heart is full of love.” Or Jessica Mullen’s perennial favorite, “Isn’t this fun?!”)

3. Try starting the morning with some yoga or light stretching & see how it affects the way you feel for the rest of the day.

4. Give yourself permission to take naps as necessary & when possible.

5. Read a good book in the bath for at least half an hour.

6. When you’re lying in bed trying to fall asleep, instead of going over the things that worry you & make you nervous, make a mental list of things you’re grateful for or go through a visualization of yourself achieving a major goal.

7. Identify one problem in your life, however minor or major, which you can fix this week. Then do it.
