Going to therapy should not be "embarrassing." It doesn't have to be anyone's business but your own. Being mentally and emotionally healthy should take much higher precedence than being worried about being embarrassed or feeling judged. After all, those kinds of feelings will usually only lead to more anxiety and self-destruction. If one was sick with a cough for many months, one would see a physician. If one is unhealthy in the mind for a long period of time, one should see a doctor, too.

Continued: Also there are many forms of therapy if going to a certified doctor or therapist is not financially feasible. Many communities offer group therapy programs that reach out to a variable spectrum of mental and emotional needs.

I agree with you; however, I don’t know if there’s much value in shaming someone who feels emotionally unprepared to go to therapy. Forcing someone to do something to which they’re strongly resistant is not usually healthy, even if what you’re forcing them to do is something that could ultimately be helpful to them. Feeling forced or pressured can be emotionally traumatic.
