Someone named “BustyLover” keeps favoriting my photos on Flickr, and it’s making me think about how hard it is to balance my conflicting feelings of “not wanting to be an uptight prude” and “not wanting to be objectified by strangers.” Plus there’s this occasional random other feeling of “definitely wanting to be objectified by strangers,” but that’s rare and it has limits and I should be able to invite that to happen exclusively when I want it to.
I know that sex-positive feminism happened and feminists can now freely rock skimpy dresses at bars and go home with men they just met or celebrate their sluttiness in all kinds of ways or freely and openly admit to enjoying sexual attention, while still being feminists. I understand this intellectually but it’s a hard thing to grasp emotionally/instinctually, I guess.
